It has been a super busy month down here in Panama. But everything is going real well. God has been teaching us so many things.
We’ve had several USA volunteer teams visit that have been primarily youth, mostly juniors and seniors in High School. They’ve been doing a variety of things: mapping, prayer walking, working in schools, showing movies, etc. We’ve had teams working in several areas, with different church planters. We are seeing awesome progress made and great things are happening through these trips. These trips are a start to what the church planter is able to keep going and work on once the teams return to the states.
We like working with youth for many different reasons. One of the reasons is that these youth have tons of potential in their lives. Many of them are at a crossroads as far as life decisions are concerned, and it’s great to see many of them making a strong stand for Christ in their lives. It has made us think, that with God leading us, each of us has a lot of potential, regardless of our age, job status, or talents.
Realizing that each person has a bunch of potential in his or her life has made us think of an often-quoted verse:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
It is great that God has these plans for us that are good, and we truly believe that he does have many positive plans for each of his Children. We can see the potential good that God has for the young people that we’ve worked with, but he has those plans for each of us. But the scripture in Jeremiah doesn’t end there, more important verses follow.
“12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you…”
God will listen to our prayers, and we will seek and find his direction for our lives when we seek him with all our hearts. When we seek him in this way, he will be found by us.
We know that God does have a plan to do incredible things in our lives, but we have to seek him, and not just half way. We’re learning how to seek God more each day. We have not arrived at this goal, but we’re trying to give him our all and see what he wants to accomplish through us. When each of us do that, God can accomplish so much in our lives. He wants to do big things through each of us, regardless of where we are in life, if we truly seek him and follow his ways. We’ll be praying that each of us learn how to follow Christ whole-heartedly each day.
Thanks for keeping up with us. We’ll be praying for each of you, please do the same for us!
