PAAM

Students at PAAM conference

Hey Everybody,

We hope that you’re doing well. Here in Panama everything is great. Quite a bit has been happening these days, a lot has gone on since our last blog post, but we’re doing great.

We’ve been blessed to be able to be involved in some pretty neat stuff. We’ll tell you a little bit about a training we did a few weeks ago because it explains some of the awesome things that God is doing here in Panama.

Here in Panama God is in the process of calling out missionaries. Historically Panama has been an area that has received Missionaries, but now Panama is becoming an area from which God is sending out Panamanian missionaries. There are quite a few Christians here, and God is changing lives and leading many to surrender to full time service, in Panama and overseas.

One way that God has prepared many of these people is through an organization called PAAM, which stands for Panamanians reaching the world. This mission organization trains up and sends out missionaries from Panama to the uttermost parts of the world.

Recently we were part of a conference there. We shared about Church Planting from Tuesday through Friday, 9am-6pm. It was a pretty long week, with a lot of teaching, and a lot of hours of Spanish and translating, but it was awesome. It was great to see our students’ enthusiasm as they were learning different church planting methods and how to apply them to their lives.

As we continue to do many different things here we realize that we are not the important aspect of all of this. The local believers are the important part, and they are fired up to do the work of the Lord. If we can play even a little part in helping them along the way, encouraging them to do God’s work, or training them to be more effective, then our time is well spent. It is a blessing to know that God is using these Panamanians in a huge way to change this country of Panama and to change the world!

We hope you’re doing well, feel free to contact us anytime to let us know how you’re doing!

  1. Hey Derek and Audrey! As always it is exciting to heat all that is going on there. Where is God directing your path next month? Wish we were able to come back but it will not work out this time. Praying you both are well. Love you! Steve & Amy
